Hello, dear readers!

As you have seen we are here in Amesbury and we have been to an amazing place, that is called the ‘’Stonehenge’’.

So you are probably wondering what Stonehenge is?

It consists of a circular megalithic stone circle, surrounded by a ring grave and directly outside this a circular earthwork.

By looking at this picture it will explain a bit more, as they say ‘’ a picture can describe more than a thousand words’’

But also wanted to tell you some facts that are pretty amazing and really interesting!

·         Stonehenge was built between 3100 – 1100 BCE.

·         The circle was aligned with the midsummer sunrise, the midwinter sunset, and the most southerly rising and northerly setting of the moon.

·         The ground plan and structural engineering of Stonehenge incorporate sophisticated mathematical and geometrical understandings on the part of its builders.

·         There were two types of stones used in its construction: the ‘bluestones’ (weighing as much as four tons and brought from 240 miles away) and the Sarsen stones (averaging eighteen feet in height and twenty-five tons in weight).

·         It has been estimated that the construction of Stonehenge required more than thirty million hours of labor.

And for me it was an amazing experience, and cool thing.

But I couldn’t stay there forever (mostly because Nesrin was really bored by looking at stones, but she didn’t understand the meaning)

But anyways we drew to Amesbury to get something to eat, so we went to this place called solstice bar & grill, and it ad really some excellent food there!

But is should stop here, it’s been enough for me and Nesrin so I think we are just going to pick a movie to watch.

And tomorrow we driving the place cheddar cheese was made!
